Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Responds to Atishi’s ‘Broken Promise’ Allegation

New Delhi: The political battle in Delhi has intensified as newly appointed Chief Minister Rekha Gupta hit back at former CM Atishi, who accused the BJP-led government of breaking election promises on its very first day.

Atishi, a senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, criticized the BJP for failing to implement the ₹2,500 monthly scheme for women, which was a key election promise. However, Rekha Gupta strongly refuted the claims, highlighting her government’s swift actions in its first 24 hours.

Atishi’s Allegations: “BJP Has Already Betrayed the People of Delhi!”

Former CM Atishi launched a scathing attack on Rekha Gupta’s government, accusing them of deceiving Delhiites right from the start.

In a video message, Atishi said:

“BJP had promised the women of Delhi that in the first cabinet meeting, they would pass the ₹2,500 scheme. At 7 PM, the first cabinet meeting was held, and everyone expected the scheme to be approved. But BJP started breaking its promises on Day 1. They have made up their minds to cheat the people of Delhi!”

Her statement triggered a major political showdown, with BJP leaders defending their decisions and dismissing AAP’s accusations.

Rekha Gupta’s Counterattack: “AAP and Congress Should Look at Their Own Track Record”

Rekha Gupta, Delhi’s fourth woman chief minister, wasted no time in responding to Atishi’s claims.

Speaking to reporters, Gupta questioned the credibility of both AAP and Congress, arguing that they had done little for Delhi in their combined 28 years of governance.

“The Congress ruled for 15 years, and AAP ruled for 13 years. Instead of looking at what they did, how can they raise questions on just one day of our government?”

What BJP Did on Day 1: Rekha Gupta Defends Government’s Actions

Rekha Gupta highlighted the key decisions taken in the first cabinet meeting, including:

✅ Approval of Ayushman Bharat Yojana: A scheme that provides up to ₹10 lakh in medical benefits to Delhiites, which Gupta claims was previously blocked by AAP.

✅ Focus on Governance: Gupta assured that Delhi’s governance would improve under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership.

She further dismissed Atishi’s accusations, stating:

“They don’t have any right to question us. We will worry about Delhi now, and under PM Modi, Delhi will finally get its rights.”

Political Fallout: Is AAP Worried About the CAG Report?

In a sharp attack on AAP, Rekha Gupta suggested that Atishi and her party are fearful of the upcoming CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General) report.

“AAP leaders are scared because once the CAG report is tabled in the Assembly, many of their wrongdoings will be exposed.”

Gupta also hinted that many AAP leaders are looking to leave the party, further fueling speculation about internal conflicts within the AAP leadership.

The Big Question: What Happened to the ₹2,500 Women’s Scheme?

One of the biggest concerns for Delhiites is the ₹2,500 financial aid scheme for women, which was a major BJP campaign promise.

While Atishi claims that BJP betrayed the voters, Rekha Gupta has not yet confirmed whether or when the scheme will be implemented.

Instead, the new CM has focused on other priorities, suggesting that financial decisions will take time and need proper planning.

However, political analysts believe that delaying the scheme could hurt BJP’s credibility, especially among women voters who played a crucial role in their victory.

Public Reaction: What Do Delhiites Want?

As the political drama unfolds, the people of Delhi have mixed reactions.

A recent online poll asked:
“What should be the new Delhi CM’s top priority?”

The results were as follows:

  • 🏭 Tackling Pollution: 35%
  • 🚇 Improving Public Transport & Traffic: 25%
  • 🚨 Enhancing Women’s Safety & Policing: 20%
  • 💧 Ensuring Reliable Water, Electricity, and Healthcare: 20%

This shows that while the ₹2,500 scheme is important, other issues like pollution, transport, and safety remain major concerns for Delhiites.

What’s Next for Delhi’s BJP Government?

The BJP government in Delhi is still in its early days, and all eyes are on how it will handle its election promises.

Key Challenges Ahead:

🔹 Will BJP implement the ₹2,500 women’s scheme, or was it just an election gimmick?
🔹 Can Rekha Gupta prove herself as an efficient CM after years of AAP rule?
🔹 Will the upcoming CAG report expose financial irregularities under AAP’s governance?

While BJP has defended its first day in office, critics argue that actions speak louder than words.

For now, Delhi’s political battle is heating up, and the coming weeks will determine whether Rekha Gupta delivers on her promises or faces backlash from the voters.

 A Power Shift in Delhi

The transition from AAP to BJP in Delhi has been nothing short of dramatic.

With Rekha Gupta making strong statements and Atishi calling out BJP for alleged betrayals, the stage is set for an intense political showdown.

As Delhiites wait to see if BJP will fulfill its promises, one thing is clear—the battle for Delhi’s governance has only just begun!
