The first teaser for “Venom: The Last Dance,” the penultimate installment of the Spider-Man villain trilogy, has been released by Sony Pictures. They are officially back.
Returning to the role of Eddie Brock, the symbiotic villain from the Spider-Man comics who devours brains, is Tom Hardy. As “the final film in the trilogy,” Sony is promoting “The Last Dance.” Eddie and Venom are running, so says the logline. With the net closing in and them both being pursued by their respective worlds, Venom and Eddie are forced to make a terrible choice that will end their final dance.

In addition to being pursued by government operatives, Hardy encounters a large, symbiotic extraterrestrial from Venom’s home planet in the teaser. Along with much of symbiote action, there’s a scene in which Hardy mounts a lightning-fast horse that has been modified by venom. Actor Chiwetel Ejiofor from “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” and actress Juno Temple from “Ted Lasso” will be accompanying Hardy.
In the recent MCU post-credits scene for “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” viewers noticed hints of Venom. In it, various Spider-Man villains were brought into the mainline MCU by Dr. Strange’s (Benedict Cumberbatch) faulty multiverse spell, and the villain suffered its repercussions. In “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” the symbiotic antagonist was transported into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and saw Tom Holland’s Peter Parker during a newscast. However, in “No Way Home,” he’s zapped back to his universe — but not before leaving behind a gooey piece of his symbiote

Sony officially announced “Venom 3” at CinemaCon 2022, building on the popularity of its two predecessors. “Let There Be Carnage” made a pandemic launch and brought in $502 million globally, while the original “Venom” brought in $856 million at the box office worldwide.
The third entry in the saga marks Kelly Marcel, the writer of “Let There Be Carnage” and “Venom,”s directorial debut. Alongside Hardy, she wrote the script as well. Avi Arad, Hutch Parker, Amy Pascal, Matt Tolmach, and Marcel and Hardy produce.
