Famous for his on-field exploits, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs appears to be expanding his skill set to include acting! The Super Bowl champion was recently seen filming scenes for “Grotesquerie,” Ryan Murphy’s upcoming horror drama series on FX.
From the field to the screen
In May, word first leaked out about Kelce’s acting career. Fans are now able to see the tight end in action on set because of social media. Director of the second unit, Larry McGee, posted a picture of himself and a grinning Kelce on Instagram. In contrast to the commotion and chaos of an NFL game, Kelce appears to be settling in nicely on the set in the photo.
A Fresh Obstacle for Kelce
Although Kelce has had experience playing himself on television programs such as “Saturday Night Live” and “Moonbase 8,” “Grotesquerie” is his first scripted role. Kelce acknowledged the difficulties ahead in a June interview with Good Morning America. He emphasized the distinction between scripted acting and reality TV by saying, “I have been on a few shows before, but I have only played myself on those shows.”
