Actress Sandra Bernhard recently expressed regret for her unkind treatment of actor Morgan Fairchild during their time together on the sitcom Roseanne.
In a candid appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” Bernhard opened up about her past behavior. When prompted by Cohen about working with Fairchild, Bernhard surprisingly revealed, “It is one of my biggest regrets that I wasn’t nicer to her.”
Fairchild played Nancy Bartlett’s (Bernhard’s character) girlfriend, Marla, on the show. While their characters were a groundbreaking television first as a same-sex couple, Bernhard admitted to acting “a little dismissive” of Fairchild on set.

Taking full responsibility, Bernhard directly addressed Fairchild through the camera: “I would like to say to Morgan, ‘You were incredible to work with.'” She further praised Fairchild’s professionalism, sportsmanship, and political views, saying, “You’re fabulous, and you’re on the right side politically.”
The public apology highlights Bernhard’s desire for closure. She acknowledged, “I owe you an apology,” and even playfully added, “I adore you, and thanks for putting up with my snotty little attitude.”
This heartfelt message comes nearly 32 years after the original Roseanne episode featuring Fairchild aired. While the reason behind Bernhard’s past behavior remains unclear, her willingness to apologize publicly speaks volumes about her character.pen_sparktunesharemore_vert
