NFL wide receiver Randall Cobb and his family had a terrifying experience this week after a fire broke out in their Nashville home. Thankfully, everyone escaped unharmed, but the incident served as a stark reminder of the importance of fire safety.
The news was shared by Cobb’s wife, Aiyda, on their joint Instagram account on Wednesday, June 26th. In a series of Instagram Stories, Aiyda revealed that the fire originated in the garage, likely caused by a malfunctioning Tesla charger. The flames quickly spread, prompting the family to evacuate the house immediately.
“The Tesla charger caught fire in the garage late last night and quickly spread,” Aiyda wrote on her Instagram Stories. Their quick thinking and awareness likely prevented a more serious situation.

Cobb himself later confirmed the news on Instagram, expressing his relief that everyone was safe. “First and foremost, we are all safe and healthy,” he wrote in a joint statement with Aiyda. He also acknowledged the bravery of the Nashville Fire Department, who arrived promptly and extinguished the blaze. “We can’t thank Chief Caruthers, Captain Irvin and the Nashville Fire Department enough for their swift action,” the statement read.
While the full extent of the damage remains unclear, photos shared by Cobb show the garage heavily damaged by fire. The family reportedly lost most of their belongings, escaping with just the clothes on their backs.
This incident serves as a chilling reminder of the potential dangers lurking within our homes. It underscores the importance of having working smoke detectors and a well-rehearsed fire escape plan in place. Thankfully, for the Cobb family, their awareness and quick response prevented a tragedy
