Supernatural fans, hold onto your trench coats and demon-trapping rings! The show’s creator, Eric Kripke, has ignited a firestorm of speculation with a recent interview hinting at a potential reunion for Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki on his new series, The Boys.
Supernatural Alums and The Boys’ Bloody Connections
This wouldn’t be the first time The Boys has welcomed actors from the Winchester family. Kripke, who also created Supernatural, has already incorporated Jeffrey Dean Morgan, a familiar face from the earlier show, into The Boys’ cast. Now, it seems Padalecki, who played Sam Winchester, might be next in line.
Padalecki Confirmed for Season 5
In an interview, Padalecki himself confirmed he’s had discussions with Kripke about joining The Boys’ upcoming fifth and final season. With his recent show, Walker, coming to an end, Padalecki’s schedule seems open for a potential supe-powered adventure.
The Ackles Factor: A Match Made in Nerd Heaven?
But here’s where things get truly exciting. Kripke, when asked about the possibility of a reunion between Padalecki and Ackles (who played Dean Winchester), couldn’t contain his amusement. He acknowledged the “internet-breaking” potential of such a collaboration, adding that it’s “certainly occurred to me.”
The ‘Destroy the World’ Tease
However, Kripke left the specifics shrouded in mystery. He playfully remarked that while the value of such a reunion lies in its ability to “destroy the world” (presumably referring to the internet), the decision ultimately depends on whether it would be “right for the story.”
Fan Frenzy: #WinchesterReunion Trends
This cryptic tease has sent Supernatural fans into a frenzy. Social media is abuzz with the hashtag #WinchesterReunion, with fans speculating on potential storylines and dream scenarios for the brothers’ return to the screen, possibly even on opposing sides.
A Universe of Possibilities
While nothing is confirmed yet, Kripke’s words leave the door wide open for a potential Ackles-Padalecki reunion on The Boys. It could be a one-off cameo, a full-fledged character arc, or something entirely different. The possibilities are as endless as a hunter’s arsenal.
Supernatural’s Legacy Lives On
Whether this reunion materializes or not, one thing is certain: The Boys has become a magnet for actors from the beloved Supernatural universe. This not only speaks to Kripke’s creative vision but also highlights the enduring legacy of the Winchester brothers and the impact they left on audiences worldwide.
So, Supernatural fans, keep those fingers crossed and those holy water reserves stocked. The potential return of the Winchesters, even to a different battlefield, could be just the epic throwdown we’ve all been waiting for.
