Dhurandhar 2 Release Unaffected While Toxic Gets Postponed Amid Global Tensions

The upcoming Kannada action film Toxic was recently postponed just two weeks before its planned theatrical release. The makers announced that the film will now arrive in cinemas on June 4 instead of March 19.

The delay comes amid rising tensions in the Middle East, which have disrupted normal activities across several Gulf countries. However, while Toxic decided to postpone its release due to the situation, another big Indian film scheduled for the same date, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, has decided to stick to its original release plan.

Ranveer Singh’s action thriller will still release in theatres on March 19, leaving many fans wondering why one film was delayed while the other was not.

Toxic Postponed Due to Middle East Uncertainty

Makers Choose to Wait for a Better Global Release Window

The makers of Toxic announced the delay through an official statement, explaining that the decision was taken after carefully considering the global situation.

The film was originally expected to release worldwide on March 19, but the ongoing conflict in the Middle East has created uncertainty in the region.

For Indian films, the Gulf countries represent an important international market. Movies often earn a significant share of overseas revenue from audiences in countries like the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain.

With airspace closures, security concerns, and evacuation of tourists in parts of the region, cinema releases are currently not considered ideal.

Because of this situation, the makers of Toxic decided it would be better to delay the release and wait for a more stable environment where the film could reach audiences worldwide.

The movie will now release in theatres on June 4.

Why Dhurandhar 2 Is Not Changing Its Release Date

Film Was Already Unlikely to Release in the Gulf

Unlike Toxic, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is not expected to release in Gulf countries at all.

This is the main reason why the film’s producers are not concerned about the current tensions affecting that region.

The first Dhurandhar film, which was released in December 2025, reportedly did not receive a release in the Gulf countries.

The reason was the film’s storyline, which portrayed Pakistan as a hub for terrorism. Because of the sensitive political themes and regional ties, films that strongly criticize Pakistan often face restrictions in several Gulf countries.

Since Dhurandhar 2 continues the same story and features similar themes, it is expected to face the same situation.

As a result, the Middle East conflict does not affect the film’s box office prospects there, because it was unlikely to release in those markets anyway.

This gives the makers confidence to continue with the original release schedule.

What Happened in the Middle East

Rising Conflict Disrupts International Activities

The situation that affected Toxic’s release began earlier this year.

In February, the United States and Israel reportedly launched a joint missile strike on Iran. The attack resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In response, Iran launched retaliatory strikes targeting American bases across the Middle East as well as military positions in Israel.

The conflict quickly escalated and led to airspace closures across parts of the Gulf region. Several countries also evacuated foreign tourists and increased security measures.

Because of these developments, entertainment releases, including films and events, have become uncertain in the area.

For movies planning a wide international release, this kind of instability can significantly affect revenue.

Toxic: Yash’s Big Comeback Film

Highly Anticipated After the Success of KGF

Toxic is one of the most awaited films in Indian cinema, especially because it marks the return of Kannada superstar Yash after the massive success of the KGF franchise.

The actor gained global recognition through the KGF films, and fans have been eagerly waiting to see his next big project.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic promises to be a high-energy action entertainer with a strong storyline and a large ensemble cast.

The film features several well-known actors including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, and Rukmini Vasanth.

Because of the star power and anticipation surrounding the project, the makers want the film to have the widest possible release across international markets.

Postponing the film ensures that audiences in important regions, including the Middle East, will be able to watch it when conditions improve.

Dhurandhar 2 Set for a Major Solo Release

Film Gains Advantage After Toxic Delay

With Toxic moving out of the March 19 release window, Dhurandhar: The Revenge now has a significant advantage at the box office.

The Ranveer Singh-starrer will get a solo release in most parts of North India.

This could help the film secure more screens and attract larger audiences during its opening weekend.

The only major competition it faces is Pawan Kalyan’s film Ustaad Bhagat Singh, which is expected to dominate theatres mainly in Telugu-speaking regions.

However, in Hindi-speaking regions, Dhurandhar 2 is likely to enjoy a relatively clear run.

What Dhurandhar 2 Is About

Story Continues the Spy Thriller Saga

Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues the story from the first film, which followed an Indian spy infiltrating a dangerous network to stop terrorist activities.

The sequel takes the story forward with a new mission that reportedly unfolds in Lyari, Pakistan.

Ranveer Singh returns in the lead role, portraying the fearless spy once again.

The film also features a strong supporting cast including Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt.

Fans are eagerly waiting for the film’s trailer, which is scheduled to release on March 7.

With high expectations after the success of the first film, the sequel is expected to deliver intense action, dramatic twists, and patriotic themes.

The First Dhurandhar Was a Massive Hit

The original Dhurandhar film released in December 2025 and became one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.

It reportedly earned around 1300 crore worldwide, making it a major commercial success.

The film’s gripping storyline, action sequences, and strong performances played a key role in attracting audiences.

Because of that success, the sequel has generated significant excitement among fans.

Many people are eager to see how the story continues and what new challenges the characters will face.

Changing Release Strategies in Modern Cinema

Global Markets Play a Big Role

The different decisions taken by Toxic and Dhurandhar 2 highlight how important international markets have become for Indian films.

Producers now carefully analyze global conditions before finalizing release dates.

If a major region faces political or economic instability, it can impact the overall earnings of a film.

In Toxic’s case, the Middle East market is considered important enough to justify postponing the release.

For Dhurandhar 2, however, that region was not expected to contribute significantly to its revenue.

Therefore, keeping the original release date made business sense.

A Busy Year Ahead for Indian Cinema

With several large-scale films arriving in theatres this year, audiences can expect an exciting time at the movies.

Toxic will now build anticipation over the next few months before its June release.

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar: The Revenge will take center stage in March, potentially becoming one of the biggest early hits of the year.

Both films represent different styles of storytelling but share one common factor: massive expectations from fans.

As the release dates approach, excitement around these projects is only likely to grow.
